**Comment Below what you are thankful for!**
So! Its Thanksgiving time. A whole day where the America eats and watches football and parades. It is one of the rare days where it doesn’t matter whether or not you have a relationship with Jesus, everyone has something to be thankful for.
So this is for anyone. It’s easy to be thankful on Thanksgiving. It’s an entire holiday about gratitude. The Lord, the Creator wants us to be thankful. What if your thankfulness was bigger than one day?
What would life look like to give thanks, daily? 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to give thanks all the time and for everything. We are called be thankful daily, not just once a year.
7 Things to Thank God for Daily
1. A Purpose
When you woke up you had and still have purpose. You are not a finished product, you are not done yet. As a matter of fact, today means there is something to start and to finish. Do it! God is not Done with you! (Eph 2:10)
2. New Knowledge.
One of my favorite songs says, “Morning by morning new mercies I see.” Today has ripe new knowledge, new wisdom, and new relationships. Wisdom is a resource that does not run dry. Grab ahold of it! (Lamentations 3:22-23)
You are going to see someone today who needs to see you! Let that sink in. Someone woke up today and needs your face, your voice, your smile. Thank God that you have the heart to develop relationships still.
4. A Savior
You have Jesus! And remember, he did die for you. He paid the full price of sin so you never have to face the pain of it. Every day his death is a reminder that God still loves you! (John 3:16)
God never promised this thing would be easy, but he did promise to be there with you. In John 14:27, God promised us peace. Its easy to take our eyes off of peace and put them on our circumstances. Its better to take your eye off your circumstances and see peace!
6. Places to build and learn community
I love the local church. I love my bible. In those two things God gave, I have the ability to learn what it means to be me, be connected, and love others. The bible is not just a historical document, it is a living breathing document that Jesus spits mad game through today. The church is not just the place for old people and to complain about people, it is the most radical and powerful place to change lives! If you are not connected to a church, be grateful today for the places you build community! PTA’s, Coffee Shops, Birthday parties etc.
7. A full life
Lest we forget we took some breath this morning. God doesn’t desire us to just endure life, he wants us to maximize this thing. John 10:10 says Jesus came so that we could not only have life, but have it to the fullest. God conquered Death, so love life.
Be thankful today.
Be great-full today.
Be you today.
